As you may know, I have a little shop where I started by making headbands and have added many other items over the past couple of years! When I have friends who ask me to make new products, I am always up for the challenge.
Recently a friend sent me a picture of a frame that they wanted for their baby girl’s nursery and asked if I could make it. I knew it wasn’t going to be exactly the same but I with some research I could make it.
I started by looking for a picture frame that resembled the one in the picture she sent, and that was difficult to find– At least a good quality frame that wasn’t going to break the bank because I knew I was going to have to paint it also. After looking online, I decided to check out a local antique store and found the PERFECT frame. It had been redone with a mirror in it, but it was exactly the frame that I needed.
Then I was able to find lace for the background at Hobby Lobby (one of my favorite stores, where I find all my goodies for my projects). And a few flowers that were 50% off to add to the frame. I found the cutest pink spray paint to spray over the gold color of the frame, and then I went on to Etsy to find a P for the middle of the frame. There was a specific style we wanted to use for the letter, and after looking at multiple stores, Etsy was the best option. It was a wooded P that was ready to be painted. So I sprayed it with a metallic gold & I also sprayed the piece behind the lace with the same gold paint.
And this is the final product!!!
Cannot wait to see a picture of it hanging in the nursery for sweet baby P!!
